Earthquake disaster/disaster prevention learning Fudai water gate that protected the village

The Fudai Sluice Gate and Otanabe Seawall, which was constructed in response to the many casualties caused by past tsunamis, was the only one in the area affected by the 3.11 Great East Japan Earthquake that did not cause any casualties.
We are working to preserve the lessons of the disaster and pass it on to the next generation through an animated DVD and on-site training that explains how the largest flood gate in Japan's tsunami-prone region, Tohoku, was constructed and what it looked like at the time of the earthquake. I am.

learning effect
It was built based on the strong beliefs of the village chief at the time. You can learn a lot by experiencing the power to accomplish things, the ability to do things, the importance of life, the wonders of nature, coexistence with the sea, and actual heights.

message to teacher
The animation is approximately 30 minutes long and can be viewed during pre-study sessions or on the bus. The 3.11 tsunami greatly exceeded the floodgates. It conveys the threat of natural disasters as well as the need for evacuation and daily disaster prevention education. It is not safe to build floodgates. It exists because it is dangerous.
