Iwate Town Sculpture Park

The Iwate Town International Stone Sculpture Symposium, which began in 1971, has been enriched with each successive event, and the works produced there are placed mainly in the Iwate Town Sculpture Park, bringing joy to the hearts of visitors. Every year, several artists, including some from overseas, create works for the public from mid-July to mid-August, mainly using black granite from the town. Please feel the deep color of black granite and the energy of this piece, which shows various expressions depending on the time.

Numamiyauchi Koma Dance

The Koma-dori in Numamiya was completed in around 1935 by Mr. Heiichiro Shibata and others who made slight changes to the existing one in Toyama, Tamayama Village, Iwate District, under the guidance of Mr. Kamejiro Kudo of Toyama. There are 7 boys aged 14.5 who will play the pieces, 1 Umako (adult), 2 Sasara (boys), and the musicians are 2 or 3 drums, 2 gongs, and 3 or 4 flute players. . Tandogawa mountain stream

Surrounded by dense forest, there are 8km of walking trails. As you walk along the promenade, you can hear the trees swaying in the wind, the clear flow of the Tanto River, and the chirping of various birds, making you feel as if you are one with nature. The Tanto River is a treasure trove of sweetfish, yamame trout, char, and more. You can see wisteria and azaleas in spring, and beautiful autumn leaves in autumn.
