Matsuo Hachimantai Visitor Center/Product Center Aspite

Matsuo Hachimantai Visitor Center is a hub for disseminating information about the nature and ecosystem of Hachimantai and Mt. Iwate. Models of the Hachimantai/Iwateyama area, specimens of insects living in the Hachimantai area, an alpine plant corner, a computer corner, and high-definition videos are introduced. In addition, the adjacent product hall has a direct-from-the-farm facility that collects local vegetables and processed products, a restaurant that serves locally produced soba, guinea fowl, and river fish dishes, and an experience facility where you can try your hand at making soba. Hachimantai Mountaintop Rest House

A relaxing space on the summit of Hachimantai. On the 1st floor above ground and the 2nd basement floor, there are rest corners offering meals and local products to soothe the fatigue of sightseeing. Also, the natural environment information corner is full of information about Hachimantai. It provides information on alpine plants and hot springs.

Kuroyachi Wetland

From the Kuroyachi bus stop, walk along the gentle promenade for about 15 minutes to reach the Kuroyachi Wetland. The pond, which reflects the blue sky and white clouds, was created when ejecta from a volcano blocked the flow of a river. On the banks of a quiet wetland surrounded by a forest of Japanese fir trees, alpine plants such as daylily, chinese plovers, goldenrod, and cottontail are in full bloom. The water hole called ``Kuma no Izumi'' is a great place to take a break.
