I would like to introduce my personal favorite scenery. That is… “Kaunbashi”. Kaiun Bridge is an arch-shaped bridge that spans the Kitakami River on the way from Morioka Station to the center of Morioka City. It was also the filming location for NHK’s “Dondo Hare,” which was broadcast in 2007, and if you look north from the top of the bridge, you can see the majestic Mt. Iwate on a clear day. The view of the Kitakami River and the mountains and rivers of Mt. Iwate from the bridge, as well as the colorful Kaiun Bridge flowerbed, which is about 1,500 square meters in length and about 220 meters in length, is a landscape that is representative of Morioka City and is a sight that soothes the hearts and eyes of citizens and tourists alike. I’m letting you know. In addition, in the summer of 2007, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Morioka Sansa Odori dance, it was lit up for about a month, and its beautiful appearance stood out at night in Morioka.
Kaiunbashi Bridge is also known as “Twice Crying Bridge”. It originates from a story that was said among people transferred from the Tokyo metropolitan area, and when they visited Morioka for the first time and crossed the Kaiun Bridge, they cried once, saying, “I’ve come to a far away place,” and then left Morioka after the transfer period was over. So I crossed this bridge again on my way to Morioka Station, and the second time I found it hard to leave, saying, “The humanity is deep, the nature is rich, the culture is expensive, and the food is delicious.I don’t want to leave Morioka.” It’s called crying. This is an old story that reflects the warm humanity of Morioka and Iwate.
