Above all else, the “Historical Park Esashi Fujiwara no Sato” is here.
Not only the building but also the seasonal plantings add color to the park.
Forget your busy daily life and enter a relaxing space… We would appreciate it if you could visit us once.
We also recommend the “Pitt DE Get Quiz Rally in Esashi,” a quiz rally that travels around “Esashi Fujiwara no Sato” and “Kuramachi” in Esashi Ward, Oshu City. This quiz rally is free of charge and anyone with a Ferica-compatible mobile phone can participate right away. If you win the rally, you will receive wonderful prizes! ! For more information, please see our homepage.
The Esashi Historical Park Esashi Fujiwara no Sato is located in Esashi Ward, Oshu City, where Kiyohira, the first Lord of the Oshu Fujiwara clan, was born and where he lived until he moved to Hiraizumi, where he thought about the idea of a peaceful city of Hiraizumi. This is a theme park where you can experience the history and culture of Tohoku from ancient times to the Middle Ages while honoring the achievements of the Oshu Fujiwara clan.
It is also used as a filming location for various TV programs and movies, including the NHK Taiga drama, so if your timing is right, you might even be able to see the actual filming location.
There is also a restaurant where you can enjoy local flavors, a shop with a variety of souvenirs, and a farm-to-table center with fresh vegetables.
Now that I have been certified as an Iwate Tourism Hospitality Meister, I am realizing the weight of my responsibility as a Meister. We strive every day to provide Iwate-like, simple, bright, and somewhat nostalgic “hospitality” to our guests visiting Iwate Prefecture, and to make Oshu City, as well as Iwate Prefecture, a sight to be proud of all over the country. I would like to do so.
