Appi Lacquerware Workshop

The former Ashiro town was blessed with high-quality lacquer and raw wood, and was widely known as ``Arasawa lacquerware'' since the feudal period. Production was sluggish after the war due to the rise of plastic lacquerware, but Ashiro Shikki Kobo continues this tradition and continues to create easy-to-use lacquerware under the new name ``Appi-nuri.'' Using a generous amount of domestic lacquer, it is coated over 10 times from the base to the top coat, and is attractive for its vivid color and the deeper flavor that emerges the more you use it.

Hazawa confectionery

Nanbu rice crackers are made using Nanbu wheat from Iwate Prefecture and are baked one by one with great care. It has been loved for a long time for its simple, timeless taste of just the right amount of sweetness and saltiness. There is also a rare dish made with thinly grilled karinto. The light texture and not-too-sweet taste are exquisite.

Appi Kogen Farm Dairy Products

At Appi Kogen Farm, in order to produce safe milk, we produce our own grass to feed the cows, create an environment that does not cause stress to the cows, and improve the quality of milk, which is essential for dairy products. Yogurt and ice cream are also popular among tourists who come skiing.
