Roadside station “Iwaizumi”

The roadside station "Iwaizumi" is located along National Route 455, a 15-minute drive from Rikuchu Coast, and a 10-minute drive from Ryusendo Cave, making it a great location for Sanriku sightseeing spots. There is also a wide variety of local souvenirs on display, including Matsutake mushrooms from Iwaizumi in the fall.

Ryusendo Cave water

Rain and snow water is purified through the deciduous strata of broad-leaved trees such as beech and oak that spreads throughout the mountains of Iwaizumi Town, and is further filtered through limestone layers over many years. Ryusendo Cave water has by far the highest calcium content of any mineral water in Japan, and is rich in minerals in a well-balanced manner. The minerals in the water are inorganic, and the rate of absorption into the body is extremely high.It is said by the locals that ``if you drink a sip, you will live three years longer,'' and the water is popular as a long-lived water.

Ryusendo Cave Wakka

The Ryusendo Cave Tourist Hall, which was located across from Ryusendo Cave, opened in April 2023 as a new exchange base, ``Ryusendo Wakka''. We sell a wide variety of products that can only be purchased in this area, including specialty products such as Iwaizumi yogurt, as well as vegetables and seafood from Iwaizumi and the surrounding area, local specialty sweets, and local sake.
