Enjoji Gate

This gate was originally made from the materials used for the main gate of Waga Futago Castle. Around 1614, the then lord of Hanamaki Castle, Nanbu Hikokuro Masanao, was working on constructing Hanamaki Castle, and he salvaged the materials and used the Sannomaru Karame handiwork. It was relocated to Enjoji-zaka, where it was originally located, and is called Enjoji-mon. It has been designated as a cultural property by the city.

Tannaiyama Shrine

This is a shrine where Fujiwara Kiyohira is said to have donated Buddhist statues and sacred treasures, and to which he believed deeply. It became the general guardian of the southern territory, and the current shrine building was rebuilt in 1810. The transoms on both sides of the shrine hall, the side shoji screens, and the front lattice doors are decorated with beautiful carvings. It is said that if you can pass through the large stone at the back of the main shrine without hitting the wall, you will receive blessings. This is a mysterious shrine with the ``Seven Wonders.''

Toriyazaki Shrine

Rebuilt in 1313, Toriyazaki Castle had three castle guardian shrines, but in 1536, the castle lord at the time (an ancestor of the Hidenuki clan) merged them and created Toriyazakiza Sanhashira Shrine. It was renamed. During the Keicho period (around 1600), Kitamatsusai, the lord of Hanamaki Castle, prayed to the main shrine at the start of the war and won the war, so he built a new shrine and held a grand festival during the annual festival, inviting the people of the county to take a break from work to worship. .
