Nabekura Park

In the middle years of the Tensho era, Asonuma Hirosato moved it from Kokoji Temple in Matsuzaki Town, and at first it was called Yokota Castle, but later it was called Nabekura Castle. In the 4th year of Kan'ei era, Nanbu Naoe joined the club from Hachinohe and ruled Nabekura Castle for 250 years, but in the 2nd year of Meiji era, Nabekura Castle was abandoned. Currently, there is an observation deck modeled after a castle tower on the ruins of Sannomaru, overlooking the city, and during the cherry blossom season, Yoshino cherry trees and wild cherry trees are in full bloom.

Hayachine Mountain

Hayachimine, the highest peak in the Kitakami Mountains, rises 1,917 meters above sea level. Of the three trails, the Kawarabo Course and the Odagoe Course are the most common. Although the slopes are steep, even beginners can reach the summit in about 3 hours. Hayachimine, famous for its alpine flora, also offers beautiful autumn foliage in the forest zone, and the vivid autumn colors at the foot of Hayachimine, composed of serpentine rock, make for a magnificent panoramic view from the fifth station as well as from the base of the mountain. Hayachimine was designated as a national quasi-national park in 1982. The trail is closed for the time being because part of the Kawarabo trail collapsed due to heavy rains on May 26, 2008, making it impassable. Fuefuki Pass

This is a mountain pass that runs from Tono to Kamaishi City and Otsuchi Town.In the past, seafood carried from Otsuchi was exchanged for rice, charcoal, etc. carried from Tono at the Utsugiba in Wayama down Fuefuki Pass. was walking along the mountain pass while leading his horse. It was also called Mimikiri Pass because in winter, the wind blows so cold that it cuts your ears.
