Higashineyama

This mountain (928.4 m above sea level) is located to the west of Shiwa Town, about 15 km south of Morioka City, and is the southernmost mountain (928.4 m above sea level) of the Shiba Sanzan, which is connected to Mt. Namsho (about 848 m high) and Hakogamori (about 866 m high). The view from near the top of the mountain and the beech and oak trees are spectacular, and the mountain is loved by many people as a place where you can enjoy watching the Japanese katakuri in spring. The entrance to the mountain trail is marked on the north side of Shiwa Inari Shrine, at the entrance of Azumane Onsen "La France Onsenkan".The altitude difference from here to the summit is approximately 700m, the distance is approximately 5km, and the time required to climb to the summit is approximately 2. Half an hour.

Pass Station Shiwa Furusato Center Restaurant Grape Tree

Located along National Route 396, the restaurant ``Budo no Ki'' offers a menu that makes use of local ingredients, and its fruit ice cream made with locally produced grapes, pears, and apples is especially popular. We also have seasonal ice creams with fukinoto, cherry blossom, strawberry, and mugwort.

Yamaya’s skunk cabbage

The skunk cabbage in the Yamaya district in the northeast of Shiwa Town is located at an altitude of 250 meters, so it usually blooms later than in the flatlands, from late April to early May. The Yamaya Skunk Cabbage Festival is held in late May when the skunk cabbage blooms.
