Ikoi Village Iwate

Located 10 minutes by car from the Nishine IC on the Tohoku Expressway, there is an accommodation facility with an observation deck, a large bathroom with a sauna, and an indoor hot spring pool, as well as an indoor artificial turf facility where you can enjoy field athletics, baseball, volleyball, tennis, and gateball. Sports facilities such as grounds and climbing boards are available. It is also a multipurpose hot spring accommodation facility equipped with a training room.

Mikaeri Pass

Climbing up the Hachimantai Aspite Line, there is a Mikaeri Pass parking lot and a mountaintop rest house at the border of Akita Prefecture, with a great view and a panoramic view of the Ura-Iwate Mountain Range that extends from Mt. Iwate. On the walking path from the parking lot to the top, there is an observation deck on the Mikaeri Pass ridgeline, from which you can see not only Mt. Iwate, but also Mt. Hayachine and Mt. Akita Komagatake. If the weather is good, you can also see Mt. Chokai.

Ishikawa Takuboku’s monument (in front of JR Hidate Station)

Takuboku Ishikawa's father, Kazuyoshi, was from Hiratate, Hachimantai City. In front of JR Hidate Station, there is a monument with a poem that reads, ``I carried my mother on my back and cried so lightly that I could not stop for three steps.''
