Manzoji Temple

Manzoji Temple's stone gate, cherry gate, and mountain gate are unique in that they are built in a straight line. Among them, the magnificent Sanmon gate, built by Kesen carpenters using their skills, is said to be the best in Kesen County. There is a fan-shaped bell tower in the precincts, and the main hall boasts the style of the late Tokugawa period.

Sumita Town Folklore Museum

This museum was built in 1985 by moving the former Kamiariju Elementary School, which was built in the early Showa era architectural style, to its current location. The exhibition room is divided into ``Lifestyle'' and ``People's Work'' corners, which introduce a wide range of topics such as local performing arts, popular beliefs, agriculture, and the village of Kesen carpenters.

Roadside station “Taneyamagahara Poran”

Taneyamagahara, also called Mt. Mt. Mt. Miyazawa, is a plateau that Kenji Miyazawa loved very much. Kenji wrote ``Night on the Galactic Railway'' and ``Kaze no Matasaburo'', as well as many poems and tanka, based on the scenery and weather here. Roadside Station Taneyamagahara Poran is located near the entrance to Taneyamagahara, which is located at a relay point on National Route 397 that connects the southern part of the prefecture with the coast. The rest facility "Poran" is designed to resemble a star, and was built by Kesen carpenters who are proud of their traditional skills using wood sourced within the town. It is a great place to find souvenirs, with a variety of specialty products grown in the rich natural environment.
