My Recommendations for Local Attractions and Must-See Local Tourism Information

Hachimantai is blessed with magnificent nature and the beautiful scenery of each season is very mysterious. Spring begins with the opening of the mountains in late April, and we recommend driving along the winding corridors of Hachimantai Aspite Line and Jukai Line, flanked by walls of snow on both sides. Cherry blossoms bloom at the foot of the mountain, and you can enjoy spring to the fullest with the lingering snow. In summer, enjoy forest bathing in the secondary beech forest of the Appi Highlands. I also enjoy mountain climbing, mountain stream fishing, and camping with my family in the summer. A variety of alpine plants and flowers entertain you as the seasons change each week. Autumn is all about changing leaves. The magnificent panorama that cannot be conveyed in words is truly moving. In winter, enjoy exhilarating cruising on the finest powder snow! Adults and children alike can enjoy it. Hachimantai, which is also a volcanic area, is a treasure trove of hot springs. Enjoy a number of high-quality hot springs, including Fujishichi Onsen, the highest hot spring in Tohoku.

Hachimantai Heights, located at the entrance to Hachimantai Onsen Village, is a hot spring inn with a red triangular roof as its landmark. As the restaurant is run by a local butcher, the restaurant is proud of its meat dishes, including Iwate’s proud Maezawa beef and Hachimantai beef, Dicentra dochucha pork, and Ayana chicken. The hot springs are filled with the highly effective “magma hot spring”, and there are various types of baths, including a large bath, an open-air rock bath made of hot stones (lava) from Mt. Iwate, a cypress open-air bath, a Mino ware pot bath, a foot bath, and a family bath. Enjoy. It was reopened in December 2009. “Rooms with hot springs in Annex Himegami” are popular! Above all, Hachimantai Heights is proud of its people! Our entire staff will provide you with heartfelt hospitality.
