Koshi persimmon

Koshigaki is a specialty of Kashicho in the western part of Kamaishi City. When persimmons begin to grow in the gardens of Koshi Town, it feels like autumn in Kamaishi. Koshigaki is a type of persimmon that has been harvested and smoked in a persimmon room at an appropriate temperature for about a week to remove its astringency. After smoking, the color changes from brown to bright red, and the texture is soft and jelly-like, similar to a tomato. In autumn, the Koshigaki Festival is held around the roadside station Kamaishi Sennintoge. Please come and enjoy the taste of autumn in Kamaishi.

Nakamatsuya

A long-established confectionery shop that represents Iwaizumi Town. There are a variety of sweets made with chestnuts, such as chestnut yokan, chestnut squeezed, and chestnut chestnut marron. All of them have a simple taste that makes the most of the chestnut flavor.

Farm Direct Plaza Fureai Park Yamada

*The previously operating roadside station ``Yamada'' has relocated and opened near the Yamada IC, and is currently operating under the name ``Farm Direct Plaza Fureai Park Yamada.'' It is located along National Route 45, which runs through Yamada Town from north to south. Specialty products such as Yamada rice crackers are sold, and in season there is a wide selection of mountain and seafood products such as matsutake mushrooms, salmon, and scallops. It also provides event and tourist information, and is close to leisure facilities such as Funakoshi Family Travel Village. At the restaurant, ``Sanrikuiso Ramen'' and ``Yamada Oyster Ramen'' are popular.
