Kencho Monument

The Kencho Monument, located next to Saimyoji Temple, is a stone pagoda that was erected over 700 years ago and is the oldest monument in Iwate Prefecture. As it is a valuable twin monument, it has been designated as a prefectural tangible cultural property.

Kawasaki fence ruins

In 1056, during the War of Nine Years, Abe Sadato set up his troops to attack the imperial army Minamoto no Yoriyoshi at the Kawasaki Palisade, which is now known as Kawasaki Village. It is assumed. The battle between the two was called the ``Battle of the Yellow Sea'' and ended in Yoriyoshi's crushing defeat.

Flower and fountain park

The ``peony garden'' in the park of flowers and springs boasts 4,000 peony flowers of 320 types, which are said to be the king of flowers, making it one of the largest in Japan in terms of variety and number. In May, when the flowers are in full bloom, the Peony Peonies Festival is held with 3,000 peonies of 40 different species. At the ``Botan House'' in the park, you can try your hand at making stone oven pizza, and at the ``Community Plaza'' you can also try making herbariums and terrariums. The kids' land "Morley" in the park has an indoor playground for infants to early elementary school children, making it a facility that parents and children can enjoy together.
