    Murone Shrine is located at the 8th station of Mt. Murone, and is dedicated to two shrines: ``Hongu'' and ``Shingu.'' Approximately 1,290 years ago, a branch spirit was enshrined at Kishu Kumano Taisha Shrine in Wakayama Prefecture by Azuma Ono as a place of prayer for the Ezo subjugation, and since then it has been revered as the guardian of the communities around Mt. Murone, and it is said that Sakanoue no Tamuramaro and Minamoto no Yoshitsune have also prayed here. It has been. At the Murone Shrine Special Festival, mikoshi from two shrines compete to be the first to arrive and run down Mt. Murone. There are also 33 Kannon statues enshrined on the grounds.
