Morioka Hachimangu Shrine

Morioka Hachimangu Shrine was built in 1680 by the 29th Lord Shigenobu Nanbu. The deity enshrined at Morioka Hachimangu Shrine is Shinada Wake no Mikoto (15th Emperor Ojin), who has been revered by local people since ancient times as the god of the roots of human life such as agriculture, industry, commerce, learning, food, clothing, and shelter. have been collected. Due to disasters such as the Great Morioka Fire in 1884 and damage from wind and snow over many years, the shrine building has been repeatedly rebuilt, and the current shrine building was rebuilt in December 1997. The vermilion-painted main shrine building with its colorful carvings exudes an imposing atmosphere as the new ``face of Morioka.'' As the largest shrine in the prefecture, and as a place of worship and celebrations that are rooted in people's lives, it is still crowded with visitors throughout the year.

Iwate Prefectural Civic Center

The Iwate Prefectural Civic Center plays a central role in Iwate Prefecture's artistic culture, and is used for multiple purposes such as music, theater, and gatherings. The bronze statue ``Habataki'' created by Yasutake Funakoshi, which stands on the front right, symbolizes the rapid growth of Iwate's artistic culture.

Ihatobu Avenue Zaimokucho

"Ihatobu Avenue" refers to Zaimokucho's main street, Zaimokucho Street. It is a place where you can enjoy the fantastical world of Kenji at Kogensha, which has a deep connection to Kenji, and six monuments with motifs of light and music. Near the entrance is the sculpture ``Ishiza'' depicting Kenji resting in a stone quarry, the ``Constellation'' which is inspired by the galaxy with dim lights flashing at night, and the ``Star Tour Song'' composed by Kenji from a cello object. ``On-za'' where you can hear the sound of the sound, ``Kinu-za'' with a motif of the Silk Road that Kenji admired, ``Hanaza'' with the image of a flower bed designed by Kenji, and ``Shiza'' with a ceramic board inscribed with tanka poems written by Kenji. . Each of the monuments tells the story of nature's small life forms, and conveys Kenji's message of compassion.
