Hei River Mountain Stream

The Hei River, which originates from Mt. Kabuto Myojin on the Kukai Highlands, is the largest river in the prefecture that collects large and small rivers and flows into Miyako Bay, and is a treasure trove of river fish such as sweetfish, char, and yamame trout. As a mecca for mountain stream fishing, it is crowded with Taikobo from early spring. There are parts of the old national highway that are now used as nature trails, and many people visit during the season of fresh greenery and autumn leaves to enjoy the scenery that spreads out before their eyes. Roadside station “Yamabikokan”

The ``Roadside Station'' Yamabiko-kan has a direct-from-the-farm corner selling local specialties, a restaurant called ``Momo-tei'' that serves menus made with local ingredients, a local food corner, and specialties from not only the local area but also the surrounding area. It is a hub for a wide range of food, including a corner where food is sold. In addition, at the adjacent farm direct store, fresh vegetables and seasonal wild vegetables delivered daily by local farmers are popular.

Takohama Beach

A beach made of dark brown conglomerate that contrasts with the white rocks of Jodogahama. It is located behind Jodogahama Beach and is not very noticeable, making it a little-known spot. Many holes created by seawater erosion can be seen in the rocks on the coast. In addition, the coastline itself is beautiful and is a lively beach for local children in the summer. It is located about 15 minutes along the promenade from Jodogahama Beach. *There are no plans to open the sea in 2020.
