Unosu Cliff

The Unosu Cliff, which offers a view of five layers of cliffs approximately 200m high, has a raised coast unique to the northern Rikuchu coast.As the name suggests, the cliffs are nesting sites for sea cormorants and eagles. You can often see nesting sites for ospreys, which are large birds. There is also a promenade along the coast all the way to Shimagoe. In addition, the Unosu Cliff was the setting for Akira Yoshimura's ``Journey to the Stars,'' for which he won the Osamu Dazai Prize.

Roadside Station “Tanohata” Wind of Thought

“Roadside Station Tanohata” was relocated and reopened in April 2021, 300 meters north of Shizuo Bridge. We carry a wide selection of products from Tanohata Village, which is blessed with the natural beauty of the sea, mountains, and land. There is also a fast food corner that uses plenty of ingredients from Tanohata Village, such as ``Tanohata Raw Milk Softsoft'' and ``Shiitake Frank,'' as well as a restaurant where ``Milk Noodles with Lots of Seaweed'' is popular. In addition, there is a quaint simple lodging facility "Shishisokan" in a renovated old folk house nearby, and there is also a parking lot for 5 campers, making it a new base as a "roadside station where you can stay overnight." .

Kitayamazaki Visitor Center

At the Kitayamazaki Visitor Center, you can try making shell crafts such as straps, photo stands, and candles using beautiful shells. There are also walking paths and information boards around the building, so you can easily experience nature. We also accept reservations for Sappa Ship Adventures.
