Torakuji Temple wooden eleven-faced Kannon statue

Nine Heian Buddha statues, including the eleven-faced Kannon statue, which were enshrined at the foot of Mt. Himegami, are preserved at Torakuji Temple. It has been designated as an Iwate Prefectural Cultural Property, and is said to be one of the best Buddhist statues in the Tohoku region as an eleven-faced Kannon statue.

Hayasaka plateau

The grassland, which stretches over 1 km from east to west, is surrounded by forests of white birch and larch. In spring, buttercups, azaleas, and azaleas are in full bloom. Part of the grassland where Mt. Iwate and Mt. Himekami overlap is used as a pasture, where Japanese Shorthorn beef cattle, affectionately known as ``Akabeko'', are grazed. Takuboku Ishikawa and Bokusui Wakayama Friendship Monument

The ``Takuboku Ishikawa and Bokusui Wakayama Friendship Monument'' is engraved with the works of two of Takuboku's friends, Bokusui, with whom he was most forgiving in his later years and with whom he shared his final moments. ``I just want to run away from the classroom window and go to the castle ruins alone to sleep'' (Takuboku Ishikawa) and ``Leaning against the old stone wall of the castle ruins, I can't hear the distant sound of the waves'' (Bokusui Wakayama).
