Samurai Residence Castle Suwakoji

There are castle ruins of the Omachi clan, a member of the Date clan, who ruled this region during the Edo period. The entire Suwakoji area of ​​the castle, which includes the castle ruins and the vassals' residences, has been selected as a national important preservation district for groups of traditional buildings.

Iwate Prefectural Flower Center

It is the home of many of Iwate's brightly colored flowers, including gentian, which boasts the highest production in Japan, as well as stock and statice. We also hold flower-making classes and exhibitions for the general public.
