This fireworks festival is one of the largest in Tohoku. It is one of the pillars of the Kitakami-Michinoku Performing Arts Festival. 10,000 trolleys (lanterns) flow down the Kitakami River, and over 10,000 fireworks are launched into the sky by the best pyrotechnicians. Each year we set a theme for the fireworks display, create fireworks tailored to each individual program, and select music based on that image. This collaboration of "program + fireworks + music" is what makes this fireworks festival so appealing, and its reputation is increasing year by year.
