The Rain and Wind Festival was originally a prayer festival held 210 days after the first day of spring to calm down the rain and wind. People make straw dolls and carry them around the village in hopes of dispelling typhoons, good health, and a good harvest. It is held in Tono Furusato Village in early September every year, and after walking around the village, everyone makes mochi pounding. Anyone can join.
