The grand festival of Shinmeisha Shrine, located on a hill in the center of town, is held grandly for three days in mid-September. Every year, elaborately designed floats are paraded, and the Chigo procession, local performing arts, and Shishiodori are also popular. At night, Joboji Temple is a popular place for sumo wrestling, and a dedicated sumo match is held, creating a festival atmosphere.
