Kinshu Lake Otaki Light-up

Nishiwaga Town

Southern Iwate

Early July 2024 to early October 2024

Kinshu Lake Otaki is a sand storage dam built to reduce the rate of sediment accumulation at Yuda Dam. The water released from summer to autumn, when the water level of the dam drops, creates a waterfall curtain. At night, it is illuminated with rainbow lights, creating a magical appearance. It has been certified as a ``light-up night view heritage'' of Japan's night view heritage. It is open to the public during the day and you can walk inside the waterfall.
