Azuma family

Our newly renovated main store opened on November 24, 2020! Founded in the 40th year of Meiji. As a friendly soba restaurant for the common people, this restaurant has been running for five generations on Nakanohashi-dori (formerly Fukite-cho), which retains the atmosphere of a southern castle town. Since the first generation, we have been proud of our skills in soba cuisine as well as kappo cuisine, and that tradition is still being put to good use in banquet cuisine, Morioka's specialty wanko soba, and our original ``Nanbu Soba Kaiseki'' and ``Soba Furiri.'' ●Higashiya Annex 1-8-4 Nakanohashi-dori, Morioka City (*Wanko Soba not available. Farmhouse restaurant Mada Kurusuta

The origin of ``Isawa food,'' which offers menus that are particular about local agricultural and livestock products. The restaurant is housed in a renovated private house and has 24 seats, and the freshly cooked rice cooked in a nostalgic rice bran pot is popular. We offer dishes made with local products, such as zaru udon noodles made with locally produced wheat and handmade cakes made with homemade flour.

Tancharikan

A restaurant where you can feel the warmth of wood in the image of a mountain hut. We offer Mamebu, a local dish from Yamagata Town (formerly Yamagata Village) in Kuji City, as well as Genghis Khan set meals and ramen.

Farmhouse Restaurant Yasumiishi

In a room with a hearth that has been renovated from an old folk house, we serve home-cooked meals made with local grains and wild vegetables. There are about eight dishes, including seasonal ingredients such as bracken and butterbur, and homemade desserts such as millet dumplings. Reservations are required and are accepted up to two days in advance. The number of people can range from 4 to 15 people. We will also sell sweets such as Yube Manju, cereals, and fresh vegetables.

Wanko Soba (Morioka)

"Wanko" is a dialect that refers to a wooden bowl. In areas such as Morioka and Hanamaki, there was a custom of serving soba to entertain guests. The only way to serve freshly boiled food to a large number of customers at once is to serve it in small portions in bowls. This etiquette is said to be the origin of Wanko Soba. The reason why you are forced to refill your plate as soon as you finish eating is a courtesy of hospitality towards guests, which is called ``otebachi.'' ``Wanko Soba'' is a playful dish where the waitstaff throws soba noodles in one after another while shouting ``Hai, Dokkoi. The greeting "Gochisousama" is not understood there. The food is served until the bowl is covered.

Kuzumaki wine

Wild grapes are rare because of their small fruits, cluster volume, and low yield, and have been said to be effective in nourishing and tonicizing, increasing blood flow, and relieving fatigue since ancient times. We produce many types of wine, including wines made with plenty of wild grapes, and among them, ``Hotaru'' has won numerous awards at wine competitions. You can tour the winery, and purchase products at Mori-no-Kodama-kan and Mori-no-Yate Woody, both located on the same premises. You can also sample all kinds of wine at Morinoyate Woody.

Wildcat House Yamanekoken

The restaurant is based on Kenji's fairy tale ``The Restaurant with Many Orders,'' and you can enjoy a variety of different flavors of rice cakes prepared by local mothers. You can also try other local dishes such as ``hitsumi'' and ``suiton with mixed grains.'' We also sell souvenirs such as Kenji goods. You can also try Wanko Soba at Ginga Plaza Yamanekoken, which is directly across from Shin-Hanamaki Station. (Reservation required)

We made juice and jam using whole mountain grapes grown at the foot of Mt. Nanchang. You can drink the juice as it is, or you can enjoy it with milk. Also, enjoy the jam with bread or yogurt.

A natural straight drink made from 100% wild grape juice harvested from the naturally rich forests of northern Tohoku. It has been popular as a health drink in the Kuji region since ancient times.

Morioka Jajamen (Morioka City)

Morioka Jajamen is boiled piping hot noodles topped with meat miso. Add seasonings such as garlic, ginger, chili oil, and vinegar to the cucumber and green onion ingredients according to your preference and mix. It is said to have its roots in the Chinese dish ``Chow Sauce Noodles,'' which has been adapted into an Iwate style. After eating, we recommend making ``Chicken Tang Tang'' by cracking the egg into the bowl and adding the boiling water along with a small amount of meat miso.

Seafood behavior center

You can purchase fresh seafood delivered every morning. You can also enjoy set meals using seafood from Sanriku, as well as grilled scallops and oysters.
