① “Historical Park Esashi Fujiwara no Sato” – Of course, this is the most recommended!
② Kuramachi Esashi – Originally, there were many storehouses in Esashi, and this street was created using those storehouses. There are “Glass Museum,” “Music Box Museum,” and “Kikuta Kazuo Memorial Museum,” where you can enjoy walking and shopping. We recommend the “okara donuts” made with okara. There are some shops selling “Kamenoko Senbei,” which became famous after being featured on “Hanamaru Market,” but they are so popular that they sometimes sell out.
③ Yumenosato Kobo Haratai – Rice bread made with rice grown in Esashi is popular. Because it uses rice, it has a chewy texture that is good for your stomach. The chocolate croissant is especially delicious.
“Historical Park Esashi Fujiwara no Sato” is a historical theme park from the Heian period, which includes the residence of Kiyohira, the first generation of the Oshu Fujiwara clan, who lived in Esashi, and his father Tsunekiyo, as well as the residence of Hidehira, the third generation government office during the Hiraizumi Golden Age. Kara Gosho and other areas have been recreated. Numerous dramas and movies have been filmed here, including the 1993 NHK taiga drama “Flame,” and about 70 films have been filmed so far. The park has a full menu of experiences such as “period costume dressing experience,” “clam painting experience,” and “bow and arrow experience.” In addition, the “Heian no Miyabi Formal Juni-Hitoe and Sokutai Kimono Experience” is currently being accepted.
I joined the company in 1994, and at a time when I needed to become an old company…or rather, a core member, I was honored to receive the “Omotenashi Meister” certification. In addition to our park, there are many attractive places in the vicinity, so we will provide information to our customers about what we have experienced by walking around on our own. I would like to work hard every day to revitalize not only Esashi, but also Oshu City and Iwate Prefecture.
