My Recommendations for Local Attractions and Must-See Local Tourism Information

Ichinoseki is, after all, “mochi”
Called the “Ichinoseki-Hiraizumi Mochi Kaido,” this area is a gathering of shops that provide hospitality through “mochi culture,” and each shop makes their own mochi dishes.
We will introduce some of the restaurants…Kuramoto Restaurant Sekiichi offers demonstrations of pounding mochi with pestles and bowls during lunch time and serves freshly pounded mochi, and during snack time, visitors can enjoy Ichinoseki ingredients. At Cafe Monte, you can enjoy the full-flavored rice cake that can be enjoyed by everyone from chewy to crunchy.
Once you’ve had your fill, why not enjoy a stroll around Ichinoseki?
We recommend the “Old Numata Family Samurai Residence” located in the center of the city, a 10-minute walk from the station.
This is the residence of the Numata family, who served as the chief retainer of the Ichinoseki clan in the late Edo period (restored in 2002) and has a history of about 300 years. Members of the Iwai no Sato Guide Association will be waiting for you with hospitality.

Affiliated Organizations, Introduction of Organizations

Our office is located in the former Numata samurai residence, which is a designated cultural property of the city.
Throughout November, we will be stationed at the station’s west exit tourist information center and the Honedera Manor ruins to serve tourists.
I am also a storyteller about the Ichinoseki region.
