Dagashi began as a preserved food in cold climates. Sekiguchi-ya Confectionery Shop is a long-established store that was founded in 1896, and is currently the fourth generation to carry on the noren. They do not use additives, and carefully select confectionery and molasses to make all-natural, hand-made products. We continue to make our products with great care for their taste. Simple flavors such as miso bread, tankiri, stone cloth, and shochu sugar are popular, and you can get a feel for Morioka's history and culture through dagashi.
