Galaxy Plaza Yamanekoken

"Ginga Plaza Yamanekoken" is directly opposite Shin-Hanamaki Station. The first floor is a shop stocked with Kenji Miyazawa goods and other local products, and you can also try Wanko Soba at the restaurant on the second floor.

Yabuya Hanamaki main store

Founded in 1923, this is a "specialty wanko soba" restaurant. The waiter serves each bowl of wanko soba and stacks the bowls in front of you. 100 bowls is enough for "yokozuna" status (you will be given a certificate and a commemorative book). (You will be given a certificate and a commemorative gift, and there is also a book to keep.) Kenji Miyazawa was a favorite of this restaurant, and it is said that he ordered "Tempura soba and cider" as his favorite dish.
