Oshu City Samurai Housing Museum

There are samurai residences such as the former residence of the Uchida family in the late Edo period and the former residence of Goto Shinpei, as well as the samurai housing resource center.The center has a museum with the theme of the castle town of Mizusawa, including a map that allows you to see at a glance the townscape of Mizusawa Castle in the Edo period and the present day. In addition to armor, matchlocks, spears, and other armor and weapons, there are also exhibits such as checkboxes, abacus, and other materials. This facility serves as a starting point for sightseeing in the city and is a free rest area.

Komagata Shrine

In 1903, the shrine on the top of Mt. Komagatake was moved to its present location. It is a quiet shrine surrounded by old cherry and cedar trees. Together with the cherry trees in Mizusawa Park, it is designated as a natural monument of the prefecture as a group of higan cherry trees. 　A children's cavalry parade is held as an annual spring festival.

Kitadate cherry blossoms

The Edohigan cherry tree is said to have been planted by a pilgrim monk named Nansobou around 1300 at the place where the Abe family lived and met in Kitadate.Estimated to be 700 years old, root circumference 7m20cm, tree height 19m, a natural tree in Oshu City.
