Yamabuki Rice Terraces

Yamabuki Rice Terraces, located at the foot of a mountain in the Ohara Yamabuki district of Daito-cho, Ichinoseki City, at an altitude of about 400 meters, has been selected as one of Japan's top 100 rice terraces. In spring, the yellow flowers of Yamabuki are in full bloom everywhere.

Shounji Temple

This is the family temple of the Tamura family, which was moved from Iwanuma to Ichinoseki in the 2nd year of the Tenna era. There is also a Tamura Memorial Hall exhibiting materials related to the Tamura family. There is a collection of Buddhist scriptures, a mausoleum for Hoshoin, the mother of Date Hyōbu Munekatsu, and in a quiet area, there are graves of generations of the Tamura family. There are also monuments in the precincts commemorating Wasan master Yushichi Tanehide Chiba and Western medicine scholar Seian Takebe.

Former Tohoku Crushed Stone Factory

It has been registered as a heritage site of Japan's industrial modernization, and currently exhibits lime-related materials from the early Showa era to around 1930. It is also known as the factory where Kenji Miyazawa worked as an engineer in his later years.
