Kazuo Kikuta Memorial Hall/Festival Tradition Hall (Esashi City Tangible Cultural Property)

The two red brick storehouses used as memorial halls were built by Zenjiro Ohara in the late Meiji period. Tozo was used as the Kazuo Kikuta Memorial Hall, and when Kikuta and his family evacuated to Esashi, the view from the inn was the red roof of the Meiji Kinen Hall (then Iwayado Town Hall) with its pointed hat. We are exhibiting materials from his life and works, with a focus on materials from ``The Hill Where the Bell Rings''. As a ``Festival Tradition Museum,'' Saizo exhibits materials on festivals and local performing arts passed down throughout the city, centering on the ``Esashi Jinku Festival'' and ``Summer Festival.''

Nationally designated historic site Nagahide Takano’s former residence

The former home where Nagahide Takano, a visionary of the end of the Edo period, lived as a child still remains. It was renovated in 1891 and is still the residence of the Takano family, but the two downstairs rooms, 8 tatami and 6 tatami, which were Nagahide's living quarters, remain as they were when Nagahide lived there. .

Hidaka Shrine

It is said to have been founded in the first year of Konin (710) in the early Heian period, and rebuilt in the first year of Shocho (1428). On the grounds is the Tachiarai River Monument, where Yawata Taro Yoshiie is said to have washed the sword with which he killed Abe Sadato. The main shrine is designated as a national important cultural property. It is also known as the shrine for the Hidaka Fire Prevention Festival.
