Located between Mt. Hosai and Taneyama Plateau, there is the municipal Abarayama Makino. From late May to mid-June, the astragalus azalea colony is in full bloom, creating a wonderful contrast between bright green and vermilion.
Take the Esashi Municipal Bus Ide-Kojiya Kuchizawa Line (via Kami-Ide) to Babasaki bus stop, get off at the JR Tohoku Shinkansen Mizusawa-Esashi Station, get off at the Iwate Prefectural Transportation Esashi Fujiwara-no-sato Esashi Bus, get off at the Esashi Bus Center bus stop, and transfer.

Kitadate cherry blossoms

The Edohigan cherry tree is said to have been planted by a pilgrim monk named Nansobou around 1300 at the place where the Abe family lived and met in Kitadate.Estimated to be 700 years old, root circumference 7m20cm, tree height 19m, a natural tree in Oshu City. Komagata Shrine

Komagata Shrine

In 1903, the shrine that was located at the top of Mt. Komagatake was moved to its current location. It is a quiet shrine surrounded by cherry blossoms and old cedar trees. Along with the cherry blossoms in Mizusawa Park, it has been designated as a natural monument by the prefecture as a group of Higan cherry blossoms. A children's cavalry parade is held as an annual spring festival.

Chojagahara Abandoned Temple Ruins

It is said to be the site of the residence of Yoshitsugu Sanjo, and also the site of the residence of the Abe clan, known as the Asahi Choja. The foundation stones of the south gate, main hall, and west tower remain.
