    Suwa Shrine is located on a hill overlooking Kuji Port. It is said that Shigetada Hatakeyama, who was ordered to subjugate Yoshitsune, felt pity for Yoshitsune as he tried to escape, so he purposely removed the arrow and stuck it into the trunk of a pine tree in the shrine grounds.
