Tono City Museum

Kojin Shrine

It is one of the places where the original scenery typical of Tono remains. There is a legend that Gongen-sama, who is enshrined in a thatched-roofed shrine nestled in a rice field, bit off one ear of a Gongen-sama from another land, and is also known as Kojin, the fierce god. It is a soothing landscape that you can see reflected in the rice fields in spring, green rice fields in summer, golden ears of rice in autumn, and pure white snow in winter.

Takamuro Suikoen

Takamuro Suikoen, which recreates Tono's beautiful nature, is fully equipped with accommodation rooms and a restaurant, as well as a large fishing pond where you can enjoy salt-grilling of the fish you catch while improving your health in the artificial hot springs. You can feel satisfied both in body and mind. You can also enjoy local cuisine, Doburoku, and Doburoku soft serve ice cream. Tono Castle Town Museum

Tono City has developed as a castle town of 12,000 koku, and has become a hub of trade connecting the inland and coastal regions, attracting many goods and people, and has become a bustling city with a variety of merchant houses. The Castle Town Museum introduces Tono during the Edo period by displaying maps of castle processions and many preserved historical items.
