Uchimaki Cave

Uchimagi Cave is the fifth longest cave in Japan in terms of total length. Rare glacial bamboo shoots can be seen in the cave as a characteristic winter phenomenon. Normally not open to the public. Hiraniwa Kogen

The vast Hiraniwa Plateau, located 800 meters above sea level, is a scenic place designated as a prefectural natural park. Starting with spring's emissaries, katakuris (dogtooth violet) and other marshland plants, followed by the dazzling green of the birch forests in early summer, the azaleas blooming all over the plateau, the autumn leaves in fall, and skiing in winter, this is a field where one can enjoy nature to the fullest throughout the year. Tsurigane-do

A gaping hole in a large rock. A bell-shaped rock once hung from the ceiling of the hole. Legend has it that when a couple goes to the afterlife, they meet here and ring this bell before entering the Pure Land of Paradise.
