National Route 397 is lined with cherry blossom trees for approximately 7km, and is known both inside and outside the city as the ``Cherry Blossom Corridor.'' The ``Mizunosato Sakura Festival'' is held during the blooming period in April every year, and part of the row of cherry blossom trees is illuminated, attracting many tourists. Cherry blossom information

Features: A row of cherry trees stretches about 7 km along Route 397 from Iwate Prefecture to Akita Prefecture. During the cherry blossom season, the trees are lit up, making nighttime cherry blossom viewing a pleasure.

Miwamori Park

Located west of Mizusawa, Green Hill Miibumori is like a nature park with athletic courses and nature trails utilizing the gentle hilly terrain. It can be enjoyed throughout the four seasons, with cherry blossoms in the spring and autumn leaves in the fall. There is also an outdoor stage, a campground, and an all-weather swimming pool that can be used for various purposes. From the observatory, a panoramic view of Mizusawa City can be seen. From Mizusawa Esashi Station, transfer at the "Iwate Kotsu Haneda Ofunato Line Mizusawa Ekidori Bus Stop" to the Miibunmori Bus Stop.

Tendai Sect Myokenyama Kuroishi Temple

It is said to have been founded by Bodhisattva Gyoki in the first year of the Tenpyo Period (729) of the Nara Era and was called Tokozan Yakushiji Temple, but was destroyed by fire. Later, in 849, Jikaku Daishi restored the temple, which is an old temple of the Tendai sect of Buddhism. The main statue of Yakushi Nyorai (seated Yakushi Nyorai), designated as a National Important Cultural Property, is Japan's only Jokan-inscribed Buddha, inscribed in the 4th year of Jokan. From the night of the seventh day of the seventh lunar month to the next morning, the "Kuroishiji So-min Festival," a festival of naked men and flames, is held to pray for the exorcism of bad luck and a good harvest. (The Kuroishi Temple Sunmin Festival has not been held since 2025.)

Koro no Taki

The waterfall is 15 meters high and 14 meters wide, and the falling waterfall stands out beautifully against the surrounding scenery. There is a rock cave near the waterfall basin called ``Aitsubo'', where legend has it that Jikaku Daishi dried his clothes.
