Sake Folk Culture Museum

Seki no Ichi Sake Brewery was named by Emperor Meiji's younger brother, Prince Kanin, who said, ``Make good sake that will please the people of the world.'' The ``Sake Folk Culture Museum'' inside is made up of valuable earthen storehouses that still retain traces of the time of its founding. The two-story wooden storehouse is the largest in Tohoku. Inside, some of the over 1,600 sake-making tools are on display. You can also see the brewer's room, which enshrines Matsuo Daimyojin, the god of sake, and materials related to the production of rice, which is essential for sake. In 2006, the ``Ichinoseki Literature Storehouse'' was opened to honor 12 writers associated with Ichinoseki.

Ichinoseki City Museum

Located approximately 0.4km from Genbikei, the spacious entrance hall on the first floor can accommodate events sponsored by the museum. In the exhibition room on the second floor, there is an underfloor display of the Genbikei ruins, a comprehensive history display from the lives of the Jomon and Yayoi people in the Ichinoseki region to the present day, where they struggled to recover from repeated floods, as well as ``Maiso Swords and Swords'' and ``Gentaku''. There are four themed exhibits: "Fumihiko and Kai," "Ichinoseki and Wasan," and you can also enjoy videos and computer games.

Senmaya Street Corner Museum

The building of the former Senmaya Tobacco Monopoly Office has been converted into a museum, and is a registered tangible cultural property of the country. We display materials related to leaf tobacco, lifestyle culture materials, and materials related to the history of Senmaya.
