Sugawa Kogen Onsen

Sugawa Onsen, located at the northern foot of Mt. Kurikoma at an altitude of 1,125 meters, is a hot spring that gushes out 6,000 liters per minute. It has a long history and has been popular as one of Michinoku's famous hot springs for over 300 years since the Tokugawa period. The spring quality is a highly acidic alum-green spring, which is rare even in Japan, and has been popular with many people since ancient times for its therapeutic treatments, as it is particularly effective for rheumatic diseases and chronic poisoning. We also recommend the 1000-person bath, the family bath, and the famous Oiran bath (steam bath) amidst the magnificent nature.

Yamabuki Rice Terraces

Yamabuki Rice Terraces, located at the foot of a mountain in the Ohara Yamabuki district of Daito-cho, Ichinoseki City, at an altitude of about 400 meters, has been selected as one of Japan's top 100 rice terraces. In spring, the yellow flowers of Yamabuki are in full bloom everywhere.

Himetaki

Himetaki, located halfway up the Mt. Murone mountain trail, is a small spring filled with spring water from Murone Shrine that looks like stretched white silk. The branch spirit of Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine, one of the three Kumano Sanzan shrines, is enshrined there, and it is worshiped next to Himetaki as ``Takimiya''. There is also ``Ashitoyama Kagoiwa'' nearby.
