Kabuto Myojindake

As you head east from Morioka on National Route 106, you can see a particularly high rocky peak above the Kukai Plateau called Kabuto Myojindake (1,005m above sea level). It takes about 1 hour and is an easy hike. A popular loop course is the one that climbs straight up the northern ridge from the Kukai Kogen Walking Center. If you follow the single road surrounded by larch and birch trees, you will reach the junction with Mt. Miharuyama. After passing through a meadow, a mountain hut surrounded by trees, and a natural grass field, you will reach the top of a sharp rock. The Ou Mountains, including Mt. Iwate, spread out below.

Jodogahama Beach

The name Jodogahama was given about 300 years ago by Reikyo, the seventh head priest of Joanji Temple in Mt. Miyako, who exclaimed, ``It's just like the Pure Land of Paradise.'' In 2001, it was selected as one of the top 100 scented landscapes, and in 2006, it was selected as one of Japan's 100 best bathing beaches, specially selected by the sea section.

Karagasamatsu

It is the oldest pine tree in Taro Town and its appearance resembles a Chinese umbrella. It is located on the grounds of Greenpia Taro, and the view of the coastline and Karagasa pine trees from the hill is spectacular. Since it is a valuable tree, we need to appeal to local residents and tourists to protect and preserve it for a long time. Permit required as it is within Greenpia Taro premises
