Shibumin Park (No. 1 Takuboku Poetry Monument)

Shibumin Park stretches along the banks of the Kitakami River across National Route 4 in front of the Ishikawa Takuboku Memorial Museum. Here is the first Takuboku poem monument, erected on April 13, 1922 (Taisho 11), with the inscription, ``As if I were to cry when I saw Kitakami Kishibeme looking at Yanagi.'' It is rare. At Takuboku Station in the park, there is a coffee shop and also sells handmade cakes made by local housewives, Takuboku goods, and farm-fresh vegetables.

Yaoji Hashimoto

A painter from Shiwa Town. Graduated from Tokyo Fine Arts University, Department of Western Painting. His 300th masterpiece, ``Change Time'', was exhibited and selected as a special selection at the Teiten Exhibition in 1930, and it continued to be selected as a special selection and recommendation. After the war, he entered politics and served as chairman of the prefectural assembly. After finishing his time as a member of the Diet in 1960, he moved to Europe as a painter and held an exhibition after returning to Japan. In 1975, he founded the Hashimoto Museum of Art in Iwayama, Morioka City, where he exhibited a number of works, including works by himself and friends, works by the Barbizon school, and folk art. (The museum closed in 2001.)

Utland Himegami [Himegami Onsen]

This hot spring facility is popular for its open-air bath with a spectacular view of Mt. Iwate to the west and Mt. Himekami to the east. There is also a barbecue site where you can enjoy without bringing anything, a food workshop where you can tour and experience, and a farm-direct facility. For accommodation, we offer Japanese meals made with local ingredients, as well as daily set meals for business guests. There is also a local food corner (snack cafe).
