When you cross Uenohashi from Honmachi Street, you will see a magnificent black stucco storehouse-style house on the left. Built after the Great Morioka Fire of the Meiji era, this is a clay storehouse-style building that was built by skilled craftsmen with a lot of time and effort. The expressive windows and roof give a rich impression, retaining the vestiges of a wealthy kimono wholesaler. The storehouse in the back is the gallery ``Saisono'' and the coffee shop ``Issaryo.'' Himegamiyama

Mount Himegami, which stands opposite Mt. Iwate, is 1123.8m above sea level. The beautiful triangular shape of the mountain with its gentle slopes catches the eye. A mountain opening event will be held on the third Sunday of May at a famous spot for lily of the valley. The most popular way to climb the mountain is the Ipponsugi Course, which weaves through a white birch forest while admiring the alpine plants.It takes about an hour and a half to reach the top. The view is outstanding, and you can see the skyline of Mt. Iwate, Mt. Hayachine, and the mountains bordering Akita Prefecture.

Makibori Shrine

It is said to have been founded in the 3rd year of the Choroku era (1459). The object of worship is Kanase Daimyojin, which is about 60cm tall and has been worshiped since ancient times as the god of matchmaking, child-bearing, and safe childbirth. Kinsei-sama is enshrined everywhere within the shrine grounds.
