    It was the first geothermal power plant to begin operation in Japan in 1966, and is the fourth geothermal power plant in the world. The steam rising from the huge 46m high cooling tower is astounding. The Geothermal Museum is a PR facility, with videos and panels showing how geothermal power generation works.
