Mount Imade, towering over the urban area of Ofunato City, is 756 meters above sea level.
The view overlooking Ofunato Bay and the city area, as well as the Pacific Ocean and the Karakuwa Peninsula is spectacular.
When the azaleas bloom, the area around the mountaintop is dyed bright red, and when you look up from the national highway, it looks as if the mountain is on fire.
Once you reach the top of the mountain, you can take a walk through a large colony of blooming azaleas.
From the top of the mountain, you can see the azaleas in full bloom, the city below, and even the blue ocean.
