It is said that it was introduced from the Shimohei region around the middle of the Meiji era and began to be danced as a Bon Odori dance.It is a dance that requires skill with its simple but sharp movements, and has been passed down as a dance with an improvisational nature and bright folk song style.

famine monument

This is a memorial tower for those who starved to death in the Tono territory's worst harvest in 1755. This is a small monument on the roadside in a place called Miyashiro. It is engraved with the hardships of the people who overcame the harsh terrain of Tono.

Seishinni Monument

The grave site of Seishinni, the 21st head of the Tono Nanbu family. She is a ``female lord,'' which was unusual in the feudal era.
