Kuji Stream

    A sightseeing spot rich in nature, it is designated as Kuji Hiraniwa Prefectural Natural Park. The fresh greenery in spring and the autumn leaves in fall are spectacular and provide a place for people to relax. Near Kagami-iwa, there is a famous water called "Furo-sen," which has been selected as one of the 20 best waters in Iwate, and legend has it that drinking it will cure chronic illnesses and prolong one's life. It is also a popular spot for anglers in the summer.

    Late October to early November
    Features
    The autumn leaves of konara (Quercus crispula), ash, maple, and other evergreen coniferous trees such as red pine and cedar are reflected in the color of the leaves. A mountain stream along Route 281 leading to Hiraniwa Kogen.
