Kurosakienchi

Kurosaki is a 150 to 200 meter high cliff that plunges almost perpendicularly into the Pacific Ocean. At the tip of the cape is the Kurosaki Lighthouse, which was selected as one of Japan's top 50 lighthouses in 1998 and one of the ``Lighthouses in Love'' in 2019. The surrounding area includes the symbolic tower at 40 degrees north latitude, the Carillon Bell, the Kurosaki-so National Lodge, and the Kurosaki Observation Deck, and the view of the sunrise from here is breathtakingly beautiful.

Kenji Miyazawa Poetry Monument (Kurosaki Observation Deck)

Two monuments to Kenji Miyazawa have been erected in Fudai Village. The monument "Kogan Kisen Boat No. 1" is located at Kurosaki Observatory. The poem was erected in 2015 at a location overlooking Nedari Beach, based on the theory that Nedari Beach is the setting for this work.

Osawa Bridge

This is the spot where the Sanriku Railway crosses the railway bridge with the Pacific Ocean in the background. This 30-meter-high railroad bridge is located south of Sanriku Railway's Horiuchi Station. It is said to be one of the most famous spots along the Sanriku Railway line. The train stops for about one minute on the bridge to provide tourists with an ocean view. In the drama "Amachan," the scene of Natsubappa waving the big fishing flag was filmed on the beach below. It is also a popular spot for photo enthusiasts looking for shutterbug opportunities from near National Route 45. Basic Information
