Kenji Miyazawa Poetry Monument (Matsuiso Park)

Fudai Village

Northern Iwate

Two monuments of Kenji Miyazawa's poetry have been erected in Fudai Village.
One of these is the monument to ``The Lost Boy's Song'' in Matsuiso Park, and it is said that Horiuchi Port was the port where Kenji boarded his engine boat when he traveled to Sanriku in 1925. It was built in 2004. The epitaph was chosen as a literary poem, ``Song of a Defeated Boy,'' which is an adaptation of ``Sanshiro: Jealousy of the Apocalypse,'' which Kenji wrote at dawn on the day he boarded the ship.
