It began in 1955 when it was held under the name ``Wanko Soba Sumo Winter Place''. A competition divided into elementary school, individual, and group divisions to see how many bowls of Wanko Soba they can eat. It will be held on February 11th, the ``Wanko Soba Anniversary''.
